Høng School – a cultural meeting point

Høng School is a cultural meeting point in the Danish municipality of Kalundborg. The architecture signals fun and games, and the goal was to create an orderly, modern school with plenty of outdoor areas to encourage the children to spend time outside.

Steni had detailed discussions with the builder about building operation and maintenance. Ann-Helene Kappel Nilsson from the Danish architect firm H+ARKITEKTER, the architect and project manager for Høng School, relates:

“We had extensive discussions with Steni to pinpoint the optimal colours that could meet our wishes and also came with a long colour-fastness guarantee. Thanks to this thorough approach, we now have an attractive school building that everyone is really happy with. We have a school that will withstand the test of time.”

The choice of colour was crucial to the project, and Steni Colour had the clear colours we were looking for. No other manufacturer had what we wanted. Ann-Helene Kappel Nilsson, H+ARKITEKTER

Jan Klausen is an architect in the Property Department at the Municipality of Kalundborg and acted as the builder’s representative on the Høng School project. He explains:

“By choosing Steni Colour façade panels, we have chosen a product that can live up to the challenges that face school buildings. The façade will undoubtedly have to withstand rough and tough treatment. School buildings inevitably become dirty and are often the target of graffiti. That is why we took the long-term view in our choice of façade to ensure that we minimised operation and maintenance costs from the outset.”
